Fastest Growing Age Groups Analysis

This analysis, presented in GIF format, was inspired by an article I came across with the surprising claim that in 2015 the US had more centenarians than any other country. After doing some digging I found that this is based on The United Nations' World Population Prospects. I wanted to explore the UN Global Population dataset to see if there was anything to discover that I had not seen covered in other articles on the subject and found these interesting curves showing the amazing rate at which the older global populations are increasing much faster than the younger age groups. I find it inspiring that in just a few decades the number of people worldwide who are able to live farther into old age is increasing at such a fast rate.
